ABOUT

5.7 | Haikus for the Climber : a book of 350 HAKIUS about climbing and the outdoors. Complete with 10 LINOCUT images.

223 pages celebrating all that makes climbing what it is:
-Ever run out a route 20’ above your last piece? There’s a haiku about that.
-Ever recount an epic around the campfire after a good day outdoors? There’s a haiku about that.
-Ever punt off a gym problem because of a spinner hold? There’s a haiku about that.

Inspired by 10+ years of climbing and a love of the outdoors. This book is a great rain day read for any climber.

AUTHOR

As a climber for over 10 years, Mike Brown inexplicably resides in the prairie city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He is a route developer, and co-author of the Kenora Rock Climbs and Manitoba Rock Climbs Guidebooks. He has climbed in over 20 areas in North America; mostly sport, some trad, a little ice, infrequent bouldering, no aid (unless you count the odd stick clip), and zero mountaineering. He has an MFA from the Chelsea College of Art and Design, London, UK (2008). Mike is a long time lover of poetry and the outdoors.
